Case Study: UI/UX Design for Cibolabs – The Australian Feedbase Monitor

Client Overview

Cibolabs developed the Australian Feedbase Monitor (AFM), a cutting-edge grazing management tool providing land managers with satellite insights into their feed capabilities.  In addition to designing the UI/UX for the AFM, the Cibolabs website was also redesigned to enhance user experience and accessibility, ensuring a cohesive and seamless integration of the new tool into their digital ecosystem.

 

Project Objective

The objective of the UI/UX design for the AFM was to create an intuitive, user-friendly interface that allows land managers to easily access and interpret satellite data on their property’s feed capabilities. The design needed to support functionalities such as viewing detailed satellite data, understanding trends, improving feed budgeting, and identifying under-performing areas.

Design Process

User Flows 

    • Users log in to the AFM tool, navigate to their farm’s dashboard, and select specific land parcels to view satellite data overlays for TSDM and ground cover.

 

Style Guide

    • To ensure a cohesive and visually appealing interface for the Australian Feedbase Monitor and the redesigned Cibolabs website, I developed a comprehensive style guide.
    • This guide defined the use of fonts, colors, buttons, typography, forms, icons, and layout spacing. The goal was to maintain consistency and enhance the user experience across all elements of the platform.

    Prototyping

      • Created wireframes to map out the layout and structure of the interface.
      • Developed interactive prototypes to demonstrate key functionalities and gather user feedback.

     

    1. Final Design

      • Developed a clean, modern, and visually appealing UI that aligns with the Cibolabs brand.
      • Ensured the interface is responsive and accessible across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

     

    Outcome

    The final UI design for the Australian Feedbase Monitor successfully met the project objectives. Land managers can now easily access and interpret satellite data, leading to more informed and sustainable grazing management decisions. The intuitive design, combined with powerful data visualisation and analysis tools, has improved user satisfaction and engagement with the AFM tool.
